This page is about the map and soundtracks that are part of the project. You can also find out here how to download the soundtracks and also the map so you can enjoy them at any time.
The map and soundtracks are designed to be used together. However, they do also work really well as individual experiences. For example some people enjoyed using the map first to get their bearings on the street and do some reading about the history of the street. They then listened to the soundtracks whilst having a relaxing wander up and down. Its up to you how to use them.
Soundtracks
You can listen here to interviews with Winner Street shopkeepers, recorded by students from Curledge Street Primary School and members of ROC Creative. As well as the interviews there are two additional tracks:
Winner Street Shopkeepers trail - this is continuous track containing all the interviews. It has instructions about how to use and is designed to be used as a 'trail' of Winner Street that starts at the top of the street by the mermaid statue.
Winner Street Remixed - this is a mix made specially for us by Lucinda Guy from Soundart Radio. The track is continuous and lasts for approx 9 minutes and is designed to accompany you as you make your way around the street. It contains extracts from the interviews and some other treats!
You can download all the tracks, to listen to on an mp3 player or ipod as you walk down Winner Street. Keep an eye out for the yellow headphone sign in each shop that has an interview track.
Don't fancy downloading?
We have all the soundtracks already loaded onto MP3 players with headphones at No.93. You can call in and borrow them during your visit.
HEALTH WARNING!
These soundtracks will make you smile! On a serious note please make sure that when you are walking Winner Street whilst listening to these soundtracks that you are aware of other pedestrians and also keep your eye on the busy traffic. Thank you
